After spending an amazing night at Louis Vuitton’s Yayokusama cocktail party, we were inspired to share their global travelling exhibition, ‘200 trunks, 200 visionaries’; designed for their 200th anniversary last year.
The bicentennial celebration showcased 200 Louis Vuitton trunks, reimagined by a host of iconic personalities including everyone from activist Gloria Steinem to architect Peter Marino. But why did the exhibition speak to us at EDNAEDNA? It was the venues that reflected the personality of the city they were based in, and the incredible detail put into creating an immersive experience that suited each space.
With LED tunnels in New York, a cheque board trunk venue in Singapore, and spaces dedicated to Gehry reflecting the local spirit in Los Angeles, each location gave the exhibition a fresh new look and feel and we absolutely love an activation that lives several lives in different guises and locations!
We still find ourselves poring over the photos from our trip to see 'Space, The Universe and Everything' at St Martin-in-the-Fields. To catch the tail end of this exhibition’s run in London we had to haul ourselves onto a late-night Friday tube after a long installation day. Not that we’re complaining, it was 100% worth it.
Designed by sculptor Peter Walker and composer David Walker of Luxmuralis, this son-et-lumiere experience leads audiences on a journey across time and space in a kaleidoscope of colours, lights, and sounds. Moving images of the big bang, the first rocket launch and views of the Earth from space covered the interior and exterior of the church, immersing visitors in the experience from the moment they arrived.
We were entranced wandering through the jewel-filled lights and by the time we emerged, a sense of serene calm had enveloped us. Immersive experiences have a powerful ability to completely shift our mood and mindset. It’s why we love them!
As flower obsessives (you should see our tattoos!), we had to share this beautiful Valentine’s Day activation from florists Bloom & Wild. Known for their ‘no red roses’ campaign, the brand has always veered away from V-Day cliches and this year was no different.
Popping up at St Pancras International, they gave out free flowers and cards to passers-by, encouraging them to celebrate whatever or whoever they want and reminding us that it doesn’t need to be a special occasion to celebrate the people in our lives. Or ourselves for that matter…
This fun activation made everyone feel seen and special, and was a brilliant way for Bloom & Wild to remind audiences of their company values. And, let’s be honest, of course we loved it…it perfectly validates us popping off to buy ourselves flowers at Columbia Road Flower market most weekends. The only way we think they could have improved it? Blaring our favourite Miley Cyrus track ‘Flowers’, of course.
We kept our absolute favourite Pick of the month for last. A collaboration between Tanqueray Gin, designer Rachel Zoe and Coffee’n’Clothes; the ‘Damn Fancy’ Styling Station was an exclusive one day event which reminded us once again that New York Fashion Week always offers endless inspo.
On arrival, guests were treated to a tour of Rachel’s carefully curated Fashion Week looks before being provided with a free styling session. Serving Rachel’s signature twist on a French ’75’ cocktail with Tanqueray gin, the pop up provided guests with a moment to relax and have fun during the hectic week of shows.
We loved the thoughtful detail put into the goodie bags; every guest left with their own personalised tote filled with Tanqueray recipes, branded glassware, a London Dry Gin bottle and some of Rachel’s top styling tips. Allowing audiences to recreate experiences from your pop up at home is an easy way to develop an emotional connection with your brand so when guests from this pop up try a gin cocktail night, we know they’ll reminisce about the fun of Fashion Week.
